In one Australian survey by Share the Dignity, 40% of respondents said they'd called in sick to work because of their period, and 1 in 5 had gone without a proper product due to cost or access. Separate research from the Period Positive Workplace initiative found over half of employees who menstruate had faced productivity challenges tied to their period — and 73% said things improved once their employer started providing products. Worth noting: some of this research base is still growing, but the pattern is consistent.
